Nepal is an agro-based country. Agriculture is the backbone of Nepalese economy. So, there are several significant characteristics associated with Nepalese agriculture. Agriculture is regarded as the primary sector of Nepalese economy. It does not provide food and raw material but also provides 74 % employment opportunities in the country. Therefore, development of overall economy depends on agriculture development. Agricultural is regarded as the backbone of Nepalese economy. But agricultural development is not satisfactory. The agricultural production and productivity is low. Nepal, once a grain exporter country, but now has been a grain importer country.
